There is NO problem with the language. The term "woman" exists for a
reason. The fact that it sounds strange, mainly because people have chosen
NOT to use it, is no excuse for faulting the English language. Many
languages distinguish between men and women in their use of nouns and the
English language is no different. If a man can be respectfully referred to
as a "househusband", then a woman can be equally respectfully referred to as
a "craftswoman".
