Subj: [kl] Very resistant upper-register Ab-C on A clarinet
Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2008 06:14:12 -0400

Hi, Joe,

I'm assuming you're talking about the upper clarion register. If so, =20
you might try having a savvy repair tech look at the speaker tube. =20
Many mass-market A clarinets have a speaker tube whose shape and size =20=

are not ideal for the instrument. Someone who knows about this problem =20=

can make you a new one and replace the old with little trouble, I =20
think. I have this problem on my Buffet R-13 A, and I was lucky enough =20=

to be in the same room with Howard Klug and Luis Rossi, who confirmed =20=

the speaker tube diagnosis.

Others will be better able than I to point you to people who can fix =20
this if you need guidance.

All the best,
Anna
