Sadly (?) the days of Rubank and/or Breeze EZ as being the primary early
method book(s) are now over.

Today's students, raised on video games and external stimuli, now crave
books which not only have exercises but capture their visual attention in
combination with familiar tunes.

The most popular method books now being used are the Accent on Achievement
series and the Essential Elements series. Both books have a cleaner, less
cramped layout than Rubank, progress at a decent pace and include
reinforcing CD's with band accompaniment for each exercise and song.

There will be plenty of time later for Breeze EZ / Rubank if you need
additional material, but in the early stages you must keep the kids looking
forward to each new page.

BTW -The CD's included in the 2 method books mentioned above are interactive
and will play on computers as well as CD players.

Other worthwhile beginning method books which should get a mention are the
Clarinet Student (Fred Weber/Robert Lowry) Yamaha Band Method
(Feldstein/O'Reilly)
