Yes - and the reason makes sense if you think about it. If parts are ruined
though overuse, more need to be bought. If, in essence, they are used as
masters for rough copies, the masters will last longer but the publisher
will therefore sell fewer.

You are therefore doing economic damage copying parts for any reason.

Is it really illegal to copy a script you have rented, mark it up and
use it for the performance then destroy it? Surely this is copyright
gone wrong??

I can understand the problem with copying someone else's music and using it.
