I had two hernia surgeries, one when I was two and one
when I was three years old. That was a few years
before I started playing but it has never been a
problem and never even thought about any connection
between playing and the hernia.

A friend of mine (saxophone player) had a hernia
surgery a couple of years ago and his doctor
recommended not playing for a while. At first he
couldn't play, after about one or two months he got
back to playing a little, with sometimes only a little
discomfort. Another month or two later it was back to
normal without any problems when playing.
