I am not a medical person, but I had a strangulated hernia (that nearly
killed me) about 10 years ago. It was fixed with a piece of mesh (nylon, I
think). Although it took a while to recover, I never quit playing. It has never
bothered me. I hope other, medical personnel, can give you a better take on
this one. Good luck.
