When I was in Berlin in1969 I had lessons from the Bassclarinettist
of the opera; Herr Kunzler. He spoke of getting a bass clarinet in A
so I imagine that they were still made thaen. It would oof course
have been a German system.
At that time I was playing an old Boosey simple system bass. He
greatly admired it, and could play it superbly.
