After all this conversation I need to pull it out again. My memory is
that I liked it.... and the recording I own is the one with John's Book
of Alleged Dances- which I REALLY like. Kronos Quartet is fantastic.
Their only downfall is the lack of a clarinet but being a string quartet
I guess I can understand the omission ;) When showing students the range
of string instruments I love to include their version of Purple Haze.
The kids can't believe that it is orchestral strings playing (and a
couple even recognize the tune....) and the adults always get a kick out
of it.
Take Care,
Anne
