I found 19th century Breitkopf parts in Z=FCrich - in the =20
Zentralbibliothek if memory serves. I made a score from these and used =20=
them for some performances in Germany. Then a colleague suggested that =20=
I transcribe it for band, so I did. Bands I have done it with have =20
always liked it since it is cleverly composed, contains the "Country =20
Gardens" theme, and is the only concerto I know of for 4 solo =20
clarinets and orchestra (or in this case band).

P.S. One of the soloists, Howard Harris (former Goldman Band player, =20
etc.), says that he once played through the Schindelmeisser with you =20
many years ago. He says that without you he would have never heard of =20=
the piece.
