I play MoBa mouthpieces. The almond oil was sent with the mouthpieces to c=
are for =0D
them. The oil got on my reeds after oiling the mouthpieces and I noticed t=
hey =0D
lasted longer. So I decided to try fixing them and coating them after they=
were =0D
finished, and voila!=0D
=0D
I never used to mess with reeds. I knew how to adjust them when they neede=
d it, =0D
but just hated wasting all that time. Then I switched to Legeres for a whi=
le, and =0D
didn't use any cane. About eighteen months after that change, I switched t=
o wooden =0D
mouthpieces (first Greg Smith, then Lomax Classic). The Legeres didn't wor=
k well =0D
on them and when I changed to the MoBa mouthpieces, the Legeres were terrib=
le. So =0D
I went back to cane at about the time the ATG system came out (which I boug=
ht). =0D
After oiling my mouthpieces and letting them sit overnight, I would wipe th=
e =0D
outside off, but leave excess oil on the inside. I noticed the oil on the =
reeds =0D
and would wipe it off. Then I began noticing that reeds that had the oil o=
n them =0D
lasted longer, so I began oiling them as I fixed them. =0D
=0D
I stick with the almond oil because it is food grade and tasteless. I have=
been =0D
doing this for almost two years. I have not had any problems with rancid o=
il. I =0D
buy it at Whole Foods in a pint bottle and haven't finished the first pint =
yet.=0D
