I play on wooden mouthpieces that are oiled once a week with almond oil. =
=0D
Naturally, the oil gets into the reeds. Like Paolo, I found that the reeds=
last =0D
much longer. =0D
=0D
I finish the reeds first with Ridenour's ATG system, and then give a light =
coat of =0D
oil and lay them out on glass overnight. I wipe them in the morning to rem=
ove any =0D
remaining oil. They play consistently in hot, cold, dry or humid condition=
s. I =0D
have found that I never have to oil them again after the initial oiling. I=
=0D
actually have two reeds that I finished last August and they still play as =
well as =0D
when I first started using them. In fact, I used one of them in a concert =
Saturday =0D
evening.=0D
