I occasionally get a reed with a weird taste but this
is for many years. I haven't noticed bad sound or
response with the new Vandorens, although the new
packaging is a real PITA. Annoying to open and way
more plastic, with no advantages at all.

One thing is the tip break much more now. It's small
chips that I notice are missing after I play. I
realized it's from slap tongue, but I don't do more of
that than before and it never happened, so I'm pretty
sure it's something sucky about the new reeds.
