When doing "America" with an inexperienced band I beat two with the
LH and and 3 with the RH using the size of my beat as a volume
indicator. It is really very easy to do -try it.

Very interesting, but when I tried to do it, couldn't. Maybe if I try it
more and harder ... but why?

By chance the band I conduct has played "America" recently. To the
50-plussers "America" posed no problem, to some "youngsters" it did. Thus
during the first rehearsals I conducted it in 3 and 2, and it worked well,
and when after some rehearsals I started to conduct in two beats only it was
no problem to anyone anymore.

Then we had "Rikudim" on the stand, and in the 5/8th meter it had to start
all over again.

Ciao
