Re Tony's (1) that would make the thumb and first
finger rings press more to close that hole (depending
on how much you bend) so uncomfortable when playing F
and/or F# (especially if the rings press even lower
than the chimneys).

Re (2) maybe the A key can be made to close a bit less
without affecting the tone/intonation to make it not
touch the F# pad (in case that happens). If not, it's
usually possible to shape the trill/A key so they
don't touch the F# sliver/key cup.

Basically you need to find what exactly is causing the
problem and then correct that. For the venting of this
key, which is often problematic, it could be changing
the pad, bending several keys, changing/sanding any of
the silencing materials, cleaning the tone hole,
shaping the keys, etc. and any combination of these
that is best. I suggest that only if none of that
works to consider enlarging the tone hole.
