Subj: [kl] Widening Twelfths

I recently bought a Patricola C clarinet. I very much like the response and
the general sense of focus I hear in the sound throughout its compass. I am
having a problem with its tuning and wondered what mechanical solutions any
of you might be able to suggest. Basically, the chalumeau is several cents
sharp to the registers above it (or perhaps the clarion is flat to the
chalumeau). In either case, it seems to me I need a way to sharpen the
clarion notes a little, to widen the twelfths slightly when the register key
is open. I have found for the time being a mouthpiece solution (not my
regular B-flat/A mouthpiece) that minimizes the problem to a degree no other
mouthpiece/reed combination I've tried seems able to do, but it's still not
a totally comfortable solution. I'm wondering if moving the register vent or
simply changing the dimensions of the register tube is likely to produce the
result I need and, if so, what direction I need to go. Any other ideas based
on experience will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
