Hi Angelia
You have a fascinating project there.
I've always thought that Mozart's relationship with his father was
about what you fxpect when you remember that Father was himself a
musician with a high reputation in his field who was capable of
recognizing that his son was likely not to command such a reputation
in his own day in spite of being a better musician. I think that,
rather than exploiting Wolfgang, Leopoid was trying to prepare him
for what he saw as the realities of making a living as a musician. I
think Wolfgang's own letters seem to support my hypothesis, bot I
hope that when your project is finished you will share the results
with us.
Martin
PS Doesn't the publisher's catalogue of the complete edition
(Breitkopf I think) give the information on instrumentation?
