That the publisher issued the work calling for a B-flat clarinet in a
movement in the concert key of A major, is the clearest possible indication
that this was not a decision made by the composer. It was entirely the
publisher's decision and probably made for financial considerations.

The third movement is in A Major which is why I was so puzzled when I was
presented with a published part for Bb Clarinet.
