Palisades Virtuosi Presents The Women Speak II Concert on March 8,
Featuring World Premiere of Full Circle by Gwyneth Walker

Ridgewood, NJ - The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi will present
The Women Speak II, a concert of chamber music masterworks on Saturday,
March 8 - 8:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage
Place in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Special guest will be artist Leslie
Montana (http://www.lesliemontana.com/) who will display her floral
paintings. Also joining PV will be guest artist Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase,
celebrated Danish mezzo-Soprano.

This third subscription concert of the 2007-08 Season will feature the
World Premiere of another Virtuosi commissioned work –Gwyneth Walker’s
Full Circle for flute, clarinet & piano. Dr. Gwyneth Walker (b. 1947) is
a graduate of Brown University and the Hartt School of Music. She holds
B.A., M.M. and D.M.A. Degrees in Music Composition. A former faculty
member of the Oberlin College Conservatory, she resigned from academic
employment in 1982 in order to pursue a career as a full-time composer.
She is the recipient of the Year 2000 "Lifetime Achievement Award" from
the Vermont Arts Council. Walker's catalog includes over 170
commissioned works for orchestra, band, chorus and chamber ensembles.

Every concert by the Palisades Virtuosi includes a work commissioned by
the ensemble.

The Virtuosi will also present selected pieces for the flute clarinet,
piano and voice by Amy Beach, featuring Ms. Ladefoged-Dollase, A Little
Gift for flute & clarinet by Joan Tower, Trio for flute [orig. violin],
clarinet & piano by Nancy Bloomer Deussen, Doppler Effect for flute,
clarinet & piano by Adrienne Albert, Sirens for Clarinet & Piano by
Julie Schmidt and other short pieces by Clara Schmann & Fanny Mendelssohn.

Tickets for the March 8 concert are $20 and $15 for students and

The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski,
clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3)
organization that was established to promote and enrich the repertoire
for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing
and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration, supplemented
by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists. Volume One of
their New American Masters CD series has been released by Albany
