The F Mezzo Saxophone? They did exist, and still do in very small
numbers. They just never caught on, and most wound up as practice
horns for instrument repair schools. There are still a few C
sopranos around, too. There is one on eBay now. Sax envisioned a
whole family of orchestral saxes in C and F to complement the band
saxes in Bb and Eb. The guy was a dreamer!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
