Subj: [kl] Feb. 23 clarinet festival in Virginia
Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 09:10:29 -0500

George Mason University's Department of Music plans a clarinet festival on
February 23, 2008, on the Fairfax, Virginia campus. I get the impression
it's a much smaller and more student-oriented affair than the recent
Navy-sponsored International Saxophone Symposium at the same venue, but,
pending more information, I'll probably go gawk. The guests announced so
far are the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra's principal clarinetist,
David Jones; Tom Ridenour; and Alberto Grossi.

I posted the link below on the Klarinet bulletin board, but it violated the
rules and GBK deleted the message. (Not clear to me why he didn't delete
the similar message about the Saxophone Symposium a few weeks ago, but sorry
if I was out of line with that, too.) GBK told me to post about the
festival in "Announcements" but I'm not doing that, because that site seems
to be intended for official announcements by sponsors of events, and it
isn't my festival to announce. It's up to the GMU people if they want to
post something there. At any rate, so far, the only thing I've found online
is a printable copy of the same flyer I picked up at the saxophone
symposium, so if you print that out you'll have all the information I've
got:

Keep an eye on the site for updates.
