Hi Joe,

Actually, you are correct about the game not being at all like a guitar (we
have both in our house too). But I have often wondered about making it so a
real instrument could be played with the game, maybe by clipping a mike onto
the bell of an instrument (much like a tuner). If they can build a
wie-thingy, why not this?

:) Jenny

PS, that darn rock band has caused my clarinet/saxophone/trombone playing
daughter to now want a real drum set!

I don't think so. I have it on good authority (Keith's son Huw, in
fact) that Guitar Hero, though fun, is nothing like playing the guitar.
On the other hand, my wife has just acquired Rock Band, which is
essentially Guitar Hero with the addition of a mike for a singer and
four drum heads and a foot pedal for a drummer, and it's said that if
you master the expert level on the "drums", you actually will have
acquired some percussion skills. Now, what does that say about
drummers?

Cheers,
--Joe
