There is also no opportunity to *hear* the result of the teacher's
realization of the metaphor. I think often the words only take on useful
meaning when we hear the result they're aimed at achieving.

But on this list, there is no possibility to evaluate how things are going
with the student. (Nor is there that possibility in the published wisdoms
of
Legendary Teachers.) Hence the danger you identify, which I have been
banging on about here for some 10 years.
