Thank you for your kind words, and I have deep admiration for your
playing as well.

I am in general agreement with you that one should try things out and
find what works for them (not that you stated this, but it appears
that it is what you have just DONE through your playing experimentation).

Your statement I agree with most

This is how I feel.

I have noticed that I appreciate the legato of performers of all
instruments who use the motion I advocate more than those who are
always moving their fingers fast. Of course, air is nearly
everything on the clarinet, and good air, voicing etc, will get you
very far. I feel that legato fingers take you that much farther.

This has been an interesting discussion.
