Oliver, I agree with you. There was no video edit. They just decided to
play a shortened version of the movement. So they took what is, effectively
a 6 minute movement, and reduced it to about 3-1/2 minutes. But what the
thought about, it had to be planned in advance and not done at the drop of a
hat.

Perhaps it was because they were standing up that caused them to take this
Draconian measure.

Perhaps there was a time constraint under which they were working.

Pe;rhaps they felt that a cut of that nature wouldn't be noticed by anyone
or hurt anyone.

Perhaps if they were playing a less serious piece, such as "Turkey in the
Straw," a cut might have been justified.

But not in K. 361/III. To do so, is nothing less than a scar on their
musical integrity.

I know that the players in the Concertgebow are all, to the last man and
woman, wonderful performers and great artists. But that does not mean that
they have brains in their heads.

As I followed the oboe part, the musicians seemed to play measures
1-3 and then jumped to the repeat of the first theme at measure 28
where the oboe part, at least, is identical for 8 measures to that
starting at measure 4 (Breitkopf & Hartel edition), so I looked
closely for the signs of a video edit around measures 3-11 but I
couldn't detect anything.

I don't frequent the offerings on YouTube very often, but noting what
is there makes clear why the RIAA is in a continuous state of panic
about the implications of the Age of Information.
