The one (old, slow) method I trust anymore is to keep my address list
updated as a plain-text file in word processing, with a backup copy on
removable media. It's plain text so that I can cut and paste from it
directly online. I also update a printout by hand at the same time, until
the hard copy gets messy enough for me to print out another one. Seems
ridiculous to be keeping handwritten notes in 2007--but, to paraphrase F. W.
Murnau, if it's not down on paper, it doesn't exist.
