Like others wrote, it is vocal percussion. A beatbox
or drum machine is an electronic device that does drum
and percussion sounds. Beatboxing is short for human
beatboxing.

I like the flutist a lot but not so much the music
with the beatboxing. Since there isn't much of a
philosophical idea in the beatboxing itself, I liten
to the music simply as music. This means that the fact
he is doing the playing and the beatboxing together is
irelevant. Imagine it is just seperate things and it
is not very good (imo at least - too repeatitive and
very basic compared with other beatboxing). If someone
else was doing the beatboxing much higher level and he
was just playing flute it would have a lot more
potential.
