Indeed - it's various techniques for a human to simulate percussion
sounds, it uses a combination (near as I can tell), of gutteral sounds
made in the throat, and sounds made in the mouth by contorting the tongue
and other face muscles in various ways.

What's amazing to me here is that 1) the "beatbox" spittle sound/air
combined with the key slapping is actually enough to produce pitch on the
flute, and 2) that he manages to coordinate real flute playing in the non
beatbox moments to give the illusion of basically continuous lines...
