It would be very helpful to me, personally, if some kind soul would explain
what "beatboxing" is. I watched several such You-Tube pieces and I can't
figure out what is happening.

Greg Pattillo (b. 1977, Seattle, Washington) is a beatboxing flautist
originally from Seattle, but now operates in Brooklyn, New York.
Several videos of his unique musical style have been posted on
YouTube.

Pattillo has a master's degree in flute performance from the Cleveland
Institute of Music, where he studied with Joshua Smith, principal
flautist of the Cleveland Orchestra. He has played the streets of San
Francisco and New York.

In June 2007 Pattillo was named one of 21 winners of the Metropolitan
Transit Authority's "Music Under New York" program. Among other things
the award gives Pattillo an official permit, of sorts, to play music
in the subway.
