Maybe it will be an improvement.

When I heard it performed at ClarinetFest it occurred to me that I
was hearing it all the way through for the first time. I was rather
trapped with friends who were going to stay to the end so it wasn't
either convenient or prudent for me to slip out after the first movement.

I like lots of Copland's music but not this piece. It just doesn't
do anything for me.
