I, too, thought Ms. Kline's playing was wonderful. I liked Jennifer
Nelson's solo piece and her duet with Sean.

For next time, it would be great to get a few more vendors (easy for me to
say). There are a large number of talented pros in the area. Perhaps more
could be involved (think of it as good advertising). Yes, the concert was
long enough, but with some single piece "concerts" between the master
classes, perhaps it could work.

And I couldn't help wondering if Sean, Jennifer, and Rhonda had coordinated
the purple shirts/blouses:)

Thanks to Sean for putting this together. The new format including the
opportunity to actually play made it even better than past years.

Thanks for Michael Rasmussen's review of rthe Seattle Clarinetissimo. I
thought that it was a rare opportunity to get up close to some
extraordinarily fine playing and to hear some thoughtful insights about
technique and musicianship. Sean Osborn's playing of the Finzi concerto was

a joy. It was a bit odd to hear the piece with piano, but it was an
opportunity to hear the clarinet solo clearly without the (wonderful)
distraction of the string color. Rhonda Kline's piano accompaniment was a
tour de force. Altogether a great way to spend the day.
