Thanks for Michael Rasmussen's review of rthe Seattle Clarinetissimo. I
thought that it was a rare opportunity to get up close to some
extraordinarily fine playing and to hear some thoughtful insights about
technique and musicianship. Sean Osborn's playing of the Finzi concerto was
a joy. It was a bit odd to hear the piece with piano, but it was an
opportunity to hear the clarinet solo clearly without the (wonderful)
distraction of the string color. Rhonda Kline's piano accompaniment was a
tour de force. Altogether a great way to spend the day.
