Good morning!

I am not a clarinet teacher, but a student and parent. It is interesting
to consider the reasons for having a lesson cancellation policy, and to
recognise that having a policy might actually benefit the student. On
the one hand, if there is a genuine reason for cancellation at short
notice, not taking the fee is probably the fairest option. However,
having a 24 hour cancellation policy may help to overcome the lethargy
which could set in after a hard day a school/work. My children are
learning drums and guitar, and neither teacher has a cancellation
policy. I do (and will continue to) offer to pay if I need to cancel at
short notice, regardless of the reason, although neither teacher has
taken up my offer. Such a decision to cancel is not taken lightly though.

Rgds.,
Paul
