Hopefully you will get an answer to this question from the flute list.
Lesson policies are a very frequent subject of discussion there.

This is hardly ever discussed on the klarinet list. Are clarinet
teachers too laid back to have policies, don't have enough students to
make cancellations an issue, or what?
