As a professional skeptic, I scoffed at this idea, but empirical
evidence suggests that it works. My wife keeps a box in our travel
trailer, and when the mosquitoes are prolific, she'll attach them to our
clothes.

Another surprising mosquito repellent is Avon's Skin-So-Soft, and there
is even some laboratory research to back this up. It isn't as effective
as DEET, but it does work.
