AccuBore barrels come in several different bore configurations. Some
are better suited for small, polycilindrical bores, such as Buffet
and Lebanc Concerto. Others work and tune better in conjunction with
large bore instruments, such as old CT Selmers and Bundys. On most
'standard' clarinets, going to a barrel that is shorter than stock
causes as many tuning problems as it solves. Particulary on student
instruments, such as Vito and Bundy, and to a lessor degree, Yamaha,
these instruments are already shorter than they should be at the top
of the top joint. If anything, they all need a barrel that is longer
than stock to restore them to a proper length. Tuning is a
combination of player, breath support, reed strength, mouthpiece,
barrel and instrument regulation. These factors all work together or
against good tuning.

Know what instrument you have is important when making a
recommendation. Without knowing more it is very hard to even guess
about what exact AccuBore might be best for you. My first reaction
reaction and only suggestion would be to consider a barrel that is
only one MM shorter, and that a 64 might be going to an extreme.

Please fill us in with more info.

I have many new AccuBore barrels that are brand new. There is some
chance that I might be able to supply you with something that will work.

Yours truly,

Richard Bush
