Hello list!

With response to the posting from Tom Henson, the reeds he asked for
were sent out the day after he ordered them, via Royal Mail
International. As much as the reeds are quite specialist, we did have
them in stock.

We have also tried to find any email he has sent to us, as we haven't
been able to find any correspondance from him as yet. (We are searching
junk mail folders now).

This is quite an unusual predicament, but it would have been advisable
to call the shop and ask where they were, however much it may cost.

If the items are not in stock, we do not take the money. Cards are
debited when the items are ready to ship.

It is entirely possible the package has been lost, as they do from time
to time, but we need to know from the customer directly, not posted to
the whole klarinet list. It would always be advisable to call the shop
with refenece to the items, as telling the whole list can be damaging
the company's reputation.

The clarinet department does subscribe to the list, so we do get all
postings, and this posting was a great concern to us. Please be assured
the Clarinet Depatment does respond to emails and Junk Mail folders are
checked regularly. We apologise to Tom on behalf of the company and are
looking into how his emails may have slipped by.

The goods did leave the day after Tom ordered, and could be stuck at
customs.

Subject: [kl] Howarth of London

Dear all,

I apologize for using a forum like this to ask for some help, and this
question is specifically directed toward our members in the UK.

I ordered some hard to find reeds from Howarth of London recently. They
e-mailed me a confirmation of my order and the funds were deducted from
my CC like you would normally expect the same day.

Over a month has now gone by and the reeds are no where in site. I
realize that the reeds may not have been in stock when I placed the
order, so I have e-mailed them on 3 different occasions over the last
week to all of the various contacts listed on their website and have not
received a single response. I even have read receipts to show that my
messages have been read and by whom. I would hate to have to pay for an
international long distance call just to get hold of a live person when
an e-mail would suffice and given it is a small order.

I find it hard to believe that a firm of their reputation would not have
responded to a very cordial order inquiry and wanted to ask anyone who
has done business with them if there is some magic e-mail address that I
need to direct my inquiry to in order to get any kind of response and
help.

Please feel free to contact me off list with any help or advice that you
may be able to offer.

Thanks,

Tom Henson
