You should SEE they junk I routinely clean out of plastic and wood
clarinet toneholes! Sometimes it will build to reduce the opening of
upper joint holes by HALF, enough to significantly affect
intonation. I clean them out, if for no other reason than that I
don't want to deal with that crud myself any more than necessary. I
can only assume that many young students NEVER wash their hands!
