<<<Maybe I need to be clearer. I wasn't asking why *I* haven't heard about
"blow out". Actually I have several years ago on the internet on a clarinet
forum. I'm not in USA and I am right in the middle of a city.

My question was meant to be: Is it possible that "blow out" is a culture
thing, like a fasion in some places and not in others? I think it's very
possible.

I also agree with what Dan Leeson said about "blow out".>>>

Um, this is precisely my point. I wasn't surmising that you live a lonely,
rural existence. If the deep-dreaded "blowout" is indeed a universal
affliction, it would be found and heatedly discussed everywhere clarinets
are sold.

. . . but apparently it's not. Is this a "cultural" or a "neighborhood"
phenomenon? I have no idea; this would require sociological research beyond
my ken, interest or energy.
