There is still another way, though requiring a slight modification to
the instrument.

A small tab or plate can be silver soldered to the southern edge of
the arm going to the key cup of the C#/G# key this plate goes under
the ring key bridging are and closes the bottom ring key of the upper
joint when rising to open the C#/G# key. In no way does it affect any
fingerings or functions of the clarinet. C#/G# or G# to A# trills are
easily done by trilling the middle finger of the left hand while
fingering C#/G# or G#/A#. Also, once set up, there is nothing to go
out of adjustment.
