I do. Plated brass and silver have both been used, plated brass extensively.

Not really. See my previous comment. The wall thickness can be pretty thin

NOW let's talk about weight! Grenadilla ~1,300 kg/m3, leaded glass ~3100
kg/m3.

That is the debate. How much, if any, of these formants are attributable
to material? I've not seen anything yet besides some ill-formed
experiments.
