I like everyone's agreement on the changing character of wood. And yes it
does take slow and repeated attention to make any part of a clarinet, bell,
or barrel due to the memory of the wood.

Also every barrel or bell should not necessarily be the same. They really do
need to be "voiced" for best results.

That's my 2 cents.
