Walter, Deepwood is my favorite bass clarinet piece of all time. You
"wailed"!!! I love it. It's also probably the best written piece for
bass that I know...did Bennett play the bass? Because it sounds like he
knew the horn. And you gotta love the schmaltz.

It was one of the district orchestra solos when I was a kid, and I also
wailed on it, if I do say so myself. ;) I still use the opening in my
clarinet warm ups occasionally.......
