Subj: [kl] Low E Flats in the clarinet repertoire
Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2007 01:39:08 -0400

I strongly suspect that a good few of you have a wider knowledge of
orchestral repertoire than mine, not to mention chamber music. I am
searching for the earliest known uses of low E flat notes in B flat (or A)
clarinet parts. Are there national clusters? Were they intentional or the
result of forgetfulness? While looking for them, I was surprised to find
some low Ds! I will share my few findings later, if not suggested by others.
Many thanks. If this has been discussed before, I'm sorry I missed it.
