"Il Convegno" was written by Ponchielli for two clarinetists in a local
municipal band, hence it is a true wind band piece. I don't have their names
here, since I'm on vacation in Mammoth Lakes, CA. These two guys must have
been great players. The parts are very playable, and lie on the clarinet
well. Still, you've got to have finger chops to bring it off.

It's one of my favorite show pieces, and is always a crowd pleaser, because
of the operatic nature of the work. I've performed it with piano, band, and
both string and full orchestra. Great fun.......
