Does anyone have any suggestions about the relative acoustic properties of
hardwood vs bamboo vs wood laminates in terms of how a room will sound? I'm
thinking of building a new studio and wondered if anyone had suggestions or
experience with this. Thanks, Dann

I would want the hardest wood possible as that will reflect the most sound.
You can get hardness #'s from most brochures. I just built a studio and it
was with Engineered Wood (Mirage which is really hard and highest quality)
that has a really great sound. You can't use hardwood in a basement, but
engineered you can.

Remember your wall and the shape of the room and it's contents also - that
makes a big difference. When my studio was empty it was way too "live", but
with a desk, and few cabinets it brought it to just the right level of
reverb.
