I just called Avis rent a car here in Vancouver to check on this. One
needs a drivers license and a credit car. For insurance, one can buy
Avis' insurance or, at home in the States, you can call AAA and ask to
buy some international car insurance. No special Canadian Insurance
card is necessary.
