I can add to that our situation in the UK (Aylesbury Community=20
Concert Band). Our members have to pay =A3144 a year (about US$280 at=20
current exchange rates). One reason for this is that we rehearse in=20
a school, who charge us =A366.00 a week (US$130.00), which is going=20
up to =A379.31 a week in August (about US$157.00)

We do get some support from the local council, in that they pay us=20
for one or two public engagements each year, but as far as the=20
government and the rest of the civic establishment are concerned,=20
they at best couldn't care less, and at worst wish we would go=20
away.
