This is a link to the beta version of a current pro version

of piano tuning software. This beta is a freebee but is designed

to work on windows 95. On Vista you can ask a program to

load in compability mode for older formats, so perhaps it will

work. It analyses sound to .01 cents, 10,000th of a semitone.

Approx. 50 historical temperaments use to come with it, perhaps

still do.

Do not use default settings. It must be calibrated, as computer

sample speeds can vary slightly, especially on PDAs. And that

default is flat, load in the average tuning curve for what is a reasonable

but conservative piano stretch. This tuning stretch would sound OK

on most pianos but not fantastic, a curve must be customized to the

scaling of an individual pianos string scaling, age, and various quirks.

The ears remain boss.
