Dear Clarinet LIst,

The Claremont Clarinet Festival, five concerts of clarinet chamber music
featuring participants, faculty and guests of my summer workshop, will
be in residence at Pomona College July 14-17. If you are in southern
California next week, why not drop by and cheer us on?

Thursday, July 14, 8PM at the acoustically renowned "little" Bridges
Hall of music, a faculty recital will feature myself, guest teacher
David Howard (bass clarinetist of the LA Phil), pianist Twyla Meyer, and
cellist John Walz. David will be playing the Muczynski "Time Pieces" and
the Martinu "Sonatine" (on soprano clarinet) and I will be playing the
Howells "Sonata" and the Brahms Trio Op. 114 with Mr. Walz.

Friday, July 15, 8PM in Lyman Hall at the Thatcher Music Center, 340 N.
College Ave., participants Lori Musicant Koch, Thomas Carrolll, David
Beech, Bob Goldstein, Wendy Mazon, Nichole Pacquing, Vicky Ramos,
Vicente Ortiz, and D'Arcy Weinberger will present music of Brahms,
Schumann, Milhaud, Poulenc, Honegger, Lefevre, Spohr, Berg and more.
Twyla Meyer, pianist.

Saturday, July 16, 8Pm in Lyman Hall, a concert of Music for Clarinet
Ensembles, conducted by Lori Musicant Koch. Quartets by Elliott Carter
and Pierre Max Dubois; Klezmer Suite by Alex Ciesla, Little Threepenny
Music by Kurt Weill (arr Rae) and a new arrangement of the Bach Fugue in
G by Matthew Johnston of Mallejo music. FREE

Sunday, July 17, 2:30 "little" Bridges Hall of music, the Clarinet
Marathon, with participants performing Muczynski, Gabaye, Finzi, Mayer,
Osborne, Schumann, Horovitz, Bernstein, Lefevre, and more.

Sunday EVENING, 7PM, little Bridges Hall of music, Guests THE LOS
ANGELES CLARINET CHOIR, in their final LA performance of Edward
Cansino's "The Great Clarinet Circus", plus Dvorak and Grainger--a
send-off concert before their appearance at Clarinetfest07 in Vancouver.
Comps available for anyone on this list who missed the first performance
IF you email me in the next 24 hours. This will be the concert version
of Cansino's piece (no mime or dancer.)

All concerts pass: $40 general; $20 students and seniors. Individual
concerts: $15 general/$10 students and seniors. Information and
