Hey Simeon,
Well, if you're willing to torture yourself... ;-) Before you spend
megabucks on a Buffet (Selmers really tune lousy) or a Leblanc, try out
the Noblet. Believe it or not, they seem to have figured out how to do
it right! I'm convinced that you should also consult a mouthpiece
person about shortening the mouthpiece a few millimeters. It stands to
reason that if the eefer has a much smaller mouthpiece than the
'beefer', then the 'ceefer' should be in between. I'll bet that would
fix a host of tuning problems with any instrument. If I ever lose my
sanity and decide to buy a 'ceefer, I'll be modifying the mouthpiece
too.
All you mouthpiece makers out there: What say you about this?

Stay well, Simeon.
